Another professional review site, OSTest, had this to say:
"excellent" (5 out of 5 stars) One of two top-scoring TVs in the Supertest, Philips' 42PFL7603 screen with Ambilight design does much for clarity, contrast, blacks and a fluid image. Audio too was impressive, without gaps or holes and made the most of movies or off-air content. Feature-rich and the ability to endlessly customise them, this set came close to equalling Sony's KDL-40W4500.
The Philips 42PFL7603D TV came out on top in a group test in AVReview online magazine.
The TV was tested in 3 different magazines and gave reviewers little cause to complain, achieving fair results accross the board.
Its highest score of "excellent" (5 out of 5 stars) came from What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision magazine which tested the Philips 42PFL7603 in their 3/2009 issue. The "Recommended" (TrustedReviews 6/2008) award act as further honours for the Philips 42PFL7603.
